Enhance Your Online Security with The Chrome Extension: Canvas Fingerprint Defender

In today's digital world, maintaining online security and privacy is of utmost importance. One way to bolster your internet security is by using chrome extensions . Our focus today is on a highly-rated chrome extension that has caught the attention of many: the Canvas Fingerprint Defender. With an impressive aggregate rating of 4.07 out of 5, this chrome security extension is a tool that every Chrome user should consider.

Why is Canvas Fingerprint Defender a Top Chrome Extension?

Canvas Fingerprint Defender is a lightweight extension that helps enhance your online privacy by effectively hiding your real canvas fingerprint. Instead of completely blocking canvas fingerprints, which many tech blogs advise against, it reports a random fake value. This unique approach positions it as a top chrome privacy extension in the realm of browser security .

How Does this Chrome Extension Promote Secure Browsing?

The principle behind Canvas Fingerprint Defender is simple yet highly effective. It adds a small amount of noise to your actual fingerprint and 'renews' it every time you visit a website or reload a page. This chrome extension doesn't require any settings or options to adjust. Simply add it to your browser, and start enjoying a more secure browsing experience. To see the extension in action, you can visit a website that displays your fingerprint such as browserleaks and observe how it provides a new fake fingerprint each time you refresh the page.

User Reviews of the Canvas Fingerprint Defender

Several users have applauded Canvas Fingerprint Defender for its simplicity and effectiveness in data protection . User 'Dethflash' commends it as an easy-to-use solution against canvas fingerprinting, sharing their bug-free experience with the extension. 'DeftFinish Services' similarly appreciates the extension's simplicity and speed in combating the fast-growing problem of canvas fingerprinting. 'Lexicon Mango' and 'Hammad Tariq' also share their positive experiences, praising the extension's performance and the enhanced security it provides.

However, as with any tool, users have reported some issues. Some users, such as 'Excelweb' and a 'Google User', have reported non-functionality of the plugin and ineffective protection against websites detecting their system information. 'Laurent Beaumer' also noted that the extension prevented some websites from functioning properly.

It's worth noting that the developers are responsive to user feedback and regularly update the extension to address these concerns. Therefore, the Canvas Fingerprint Defender continues to stand as a reliable privacy tool in the Chrome Web Store.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Canvas Fingerprint Defender, with its unique approach to offering secure browsing and positive user reception, is a chrome extension worth considering. By providing a manageable way to protect your internet privacy , it can be a valuable addition to your browser privacy settings . However, like all privacy tools , it's essential to stay updated with its latest features and improvements to fully benefit from its use.

Don't be mislead by the sophist comments! Despite an "update" in April 2023, this date doesn't represent an update. It means Google's terms have been updated. Check your old version and the latest, it'll be the same. This extension doesn't do anything. Don't let the sophists mislead you further. I confirmed with many different fingerprinting sites . To elaborate further, CFD doesn't prevent sites from knowing what extensions I have, CPU I'm using, RAM, GPU, speakers, etc. Basically all the characteristics a browser leaks without anti-fingerprinting. Furthermore, this extension is abandoned and it simply doesn't work. Full stop. Sadly, the only working extension has now been infected with malware and adware. It took Google more than 3 months to finally remove it after an overwhelming number of flags/complaints. If you want anti-fingerprinting, considering using another browser like Brave or modified Firefox.

Have to deactivate the extension everytime i need to do a cloudflare captcha since a couple days. Besides that, great extension.

Никита Сафонов

Got problems using this extension while visiting websites under CloudFlare protection: infinite loop of "Verifying if you are human or not".

MELBU

useless

Mohamad Saleh Sabbagh

Works for me, Would have been better if I could disable it from the extension menu.

Craig Miller

Don't be mislead. Despite a recent "update" in April 2023, this date doesn't represent an update. It means Google's terms have been updated. Check your old version and the latest, it'll be the same. This extension doesn't do anything. Don't let the sophists mislead you further. I confirmed with many different fingerprinting sites . Ironically, the now unsupported "Fingerprint Spoofing" extension does work if you enable all the options. It's ironic since that app hasn't been updated since 2021. We need developers to give us other options and support. To elaborate further, CFD doesn't prevent sites from knowing what extensions I have, CPU I'm using, RAM, GPU, speakers, etc. "Fingerprint Spoofing" extension is ~95% effective (as tested on privacy websites that test for fingerprinting). But again, I expect future Chrome updates to render this extension useless too. I'm hoping others may know someone who will create a new anti-fingerprinting extension.

Lexicon Mango

love it! works really well and it's a bit lightweight

Dethflash

Easy to use solution against canvas fingerprinting. I've had a bug free experience so far, so I think its fantastic.

DeftFinish Services

Simple solution against canvas fingerprinting which is fast growing problem.

Laurent Beaumer

As much as I think it is good idea, it has been preventing many websites from working properly.

Hammad Tariq

Exceptional, Have used in multiple PC's and it's crazy how it's safe & at the same protects what you dear the most! :)

Julian Ott

Does its job

Adam

Can validate that it works and provides unique Canvas via EFF tool CoverYourTracks in addition to BrowserLeaks and AmIUnique. On developer site, there were some trackers but running pakcet and tracker tracing, there are none coming from the extension itself as is stated in the privacy policy. I was skeptical when I saw them come up from developer's website but was able to validate extension is 100% clean and does exactly what it is supposed to do.Only takes 15MB - 35MB of memory to run which in terms of Chrome and other Chromium based browsers, is a very low overhead for something adding another layer of privacy and security.
